Right now, there is no city in the United States more “it” than Nashville, TN. With a booming economy, a great quality of life, and a creative, collaborative entrepreneurial community, Nashville is on the short-list for living and travel destinations. As much of the media has pointed out, one of the critical components of Nashville’s growth and popularity is it’s thriving music, culinary, and artistic communities. Word of Mouth: Nashville Conversations is a collection of interviews by Nashville writer Lily C. Hansen, highlighted by stunning, black & white photography by some of Nashville’s finest photographers, that captures the drive, passion, and innovation of Nashvillians who have thrived in – and helped drive -- the art, culinary, and music industries, including Sean Brock, Patrick Carney of The Black Keys, and Mike Wolfe of American Pickers. Word of Mouth is a multifaceted portrait of the intellectual and inventive capital that makes the city hum with energy. It’s title reflects what makes Word of Mouth special: by interviewing each of these personalities, Word of Mouth relies on the classic form of intimate conversation to gain insight and understanding of each personality while also capturing the organic and tried-and-true method – word of mouth -- through which each have attracted their fan-base and support network. Word of Mouth: Nashville Conversations is a testament to Nashville’s incredible mixture of artistic talent but also it’s zest for collaboration, rather than competitiveness: similar to the artistic community’s nonexistent hierarchy, up-and-coming talent is interviewed alongside illustrious, internationally-recognized artists. While Word of Mouth: Nashville Conversations focuses on the creative entrepreneurs of Music City, it is a book that knows no geographical limits; it is for every creative entrepreneur, everywhere. As a collection of anecdotes, quotes and wisdom shared by those pursuing their dreams or those who have already obtained commercial fruition, it presents the stories and the insights that any innovative mind, young and old alike, needs to hear as they follow their heart and pursue their own creative path.
