"I Hear a New World 2020–2023: Ny musik för hållbar utveckling" handlar om musik från 2020-talets fyra första år. Texterna är ett pussel av tankar och dörrar vidare i en pågående konversation om samtidens musik. Vi skriver om nyfiken eklekticism, om drömsk eufori, om jazz som skevar, om parasitär AI-pop; om musik som vapen mot sociala orättvisor, om dansmusik med andliga dimensioner, om ödmjukhet som energikälla, och om döden som en vital del av popmusiken. Medverkar i boken gör Mats Almegård, Katarina Andersson, Krister Bladh, Anna Bäfverfeldt, Amanda de Frumerie, Petter Eklund, Jonas Ellerström, Elin Franzén, Hansi Güçlüer, Anton Halldin, Mattias Holmberg, Elias Hillström, Ivan Jacobsson, Sebastian Johansson, Mattias Jonsson, PM Jönsson, Mats Lundgren, Johan Neij, Gustav Nygren, Daniel Persson, Sofia Sahlén, Per Stam, Christoffer Steffansson, Petter Strömberg, Monika Svensson, Fredrik Thorén, Stefan Zachrisson. Redaktörer: Elias Hillström och Stefan Zachrisson.

Have you heard the story about the android that took to the operatic stage of eighteenth century London? Of the inventor who used musical chords to power an engine and fire a canon? What about the composer who helped the most beautiful woman in the world build a missile guidance system? Three True Tales About Music and Technology re-imagines these episodes from the sometimes tumultuous history of interactions between the sonic arts and technoscience as a series of folk tales and fairy stories—that just so happen to be true.

Music in text. Text in music. Influenced by experimental composers such as John Cage, Erik Satie and La Monte Young, Robert Barry is searching for new narratives, instructive and playful paths for musical composition. The book’s text-based scores intend to orient musicians in artistic performances as well as to guide listeners in a suggestive relation between sound and prose. A playful and inspiring collection of ideas on how to conceive musical scores.
