PERT Consortium Handbook of Pulmonary Embolism

Pulmonary embolism is the third most common cause of cardiovascular death, accounting for 60,000 to 100,000 deaths in the United States annually. The PERT ConsortiumTM, an international multidisciplinary professional society, was established in 2015 with the goals of advancing clinical care, educational, and research activities to improve the management of pulmonary embolism worldwide.  Today, more than 200 institutions, spanning the globe, are members of the PERT Consortium.Despite the significant morbidity and mortality associated with PE, there is no single authoritative reference dedicated to pulmonary embolism that is comprehensive in both scope and breadth. The PERT Consortium Handbook fills this important gap by providing an accessible and comprehensive resource for a broad audience, ranging from students and practicing clinicians to advanced researchers. The handbook consists of 9 sections, with an average of 8 chapters per section.
