Romanäs sanatorium nära Tranås var Sveriges lyxigaste privatsanatorium, grundat av Julia von Bahr, ritat av Carl Westman och ägt av Aktiebolaget Sanatorievård. Den storslagna byggnaden från 1907 står kvar, arkitektoniskt fantasifull och på det hela taget intakt. Mattias Käck har valt bland kvarlämnade dokument som berättar om sanatoriet. Några av de 39 fragmenten har varit nära att svepas med i glömskans vattenfall. Nu är de tillfälligt räddade tillsammans med sina frågor. Hur gick porslinet i kras? Vad hände dagarna då fotografierna togs? Och vilka samtal har pågått intill den gul- och vitrandiga markisen? Det drömda huset: Romanäs sanatorium i 39 dokument är en bok i gränslandet mellan filosofi, konst, foto, arkitektur samt medicin- och lokalhistoria. Mattias Käck (f. 1983) är uppvuxen i Tranås och sedan tio år bosatt i Enköping.

Las Elegías Romanas constituyen uno de los momentos más brillantes de la poesía de Goethe. Por su métrica, objeto y finalidad Elegías Romanas representan una de las cimas del llamado "clasicismo de Weimar" y, en consecuencia, son también una muestra de rechazo a la sensibilidad romántica. Goethe quiere una poesía natural, que cante y diga la naturaleza en su inmediatez perceptual: quiere ver la naturaleza como sexo y paisaje. Pero las Elegías Romanas no son la escritura de una Roma en la que la naturaleza era amor y el amor naturaleza, sino la coagulación literaria de un recuerdo que con el tiempo se transforma en realidad.Si Schiller encuentra en el mundo clásico un momento de aproximación entre arte y moral y, en consecuencia, la afirmación del espíritu, Goethe entiende que Roma le ha enseñado a separar una de otra a modo de condición inexcusable para la afirmación incondicionada de la sensorialidad y la materialidad de la naturaleza externa, pero que tal afirmación se lleve a cabo con un gesto vital y poético de rechazo al romanticismo no hace sino poner de manifiesto la pervivencia de los fantasmas románticos, al igual que el deseo de anular la distancia temporal entre el presente y la antigüedad clásica lleva consigo, implícita o explícitamente, reconocerla y admitir que en aquellos felices tiempos sucedía "algo", ficticia o realmente, que se ha perdido y que no debería haberse olvidado.
