Business Process Maturity
A Comparative Study on a Sample of Business Process Maturity Models
Häftad, Engelska, 2014

Skickas inom 10-15 vardagar
Organisations face many challenges, which induce them to perform better, and thus to establish mature (or excellent) business processes. As they now face globalisation, higher competitiveness, demanding customers, growing IT possibilities, compliancy rules etc., business process maturity models (BPMMs) have been introduced to help organisations gradually assess and improve their business processes (e.g. CMMI or OMG-BPMM). In fact, there are now so many BPMMs to choose from that organisations risk selecting one that does not fit their needs or one of substandard quality. This book presents a study that distinguishes process management from process orientation so as to arrive at a common understanding. It also includes a classification study to identify the capability areas and maturity types of 69 existing BPMMs, in order to strengthen the basis of available BPMMs. Lastly it presents a selection study to identify criteria for choosing one BPMM from the broad selection, which produced a free online selection tool, BPMM Smart-Selector.
Process Mining in Healthcare
Evaluating and Exploiting Operational Healthcare Processes
Häftad, Engelska, 2015

Skickas inom 10-15 vardagar
What are the possibilities for process mining in hospitals? In this book the authors provide an answer to this question by presenting a healthcare reference model that outlines all the different classes of data that are potentially available for process mining in healthcare and the relationships between them. Subsequently, based on this reference model, they explain the application opportunities for process mining in this domain and discuss the various kinds of analyses that can be performed. They focus on organizational healthcare processes rather than medical treatment processes. The combination of event data and process mining techniques allows them to analyze the operational processes within a hospital based on facts, thus providing a solid basis for managing and improving processes within hospitals. To this end, they also explicitly elaborate on data quality issues that are relevant for the data aspects of the healthcare reference model. This book mainly targets advanced professionals involved in areas related to business process management, business intelligence, data mining, and business process redesign for healthcare systems as well as graduate students specializing in healthcare information systems and process analysis.
Prioritising Business Processes
Design and Evaluation of the Prioritisation and Categorisation Method (PCM)
Häftad, Engelska, 2017

Skickas inom 10-15 vardagar
This book addresses business process prioritisation – a problem in Business Process Management research that is often ill-structured and complex. The book introduces and describes the Prioritisation and Categorisation Method (PCM), a novel approach well aligned with today’s business needs and climate. It embraces an explorative approach to facilitating process innovation and designing new processes in dynamic environments. Three classic theories are employed as the basis for PCM and summarised here – Ackhoff’s interactive planning, Winograd and Flores’ network of commitments, and Simon’s bounded rationality. In addition, the book features a tutorial on a web-based tool that facilitates the application of PCM, together with two industry case studies that illustrate the method in practice and demonstrate its value.
