Advances in Structural Engineering: Mechanics and Design comprises 60 papers that were presented at ISASE 2026, the First International Symposia on Advances in Structural Engineering (Cape Town, South Africa, 7–9 September 2026). The joint event comprised the Mechanics Symposium (ISASEM), which had a focus on the behaviour of engineering materials and structures, and the Design Symposium (ISASED), which focused on the design, construction and maintenance of engineering structures.The Proceedings are divided into three sections.
