Taxonomic Revision of Nearctic Endasys Foerster 1868 (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae, Gelinae)
Häftad, Engelska, 1990
621 kr
Skickas inom 3-6 vardagar
"This paperback revision will be especially helpful to specialists working among the forest of ill-defined and undescribed Ichneumonidae (the most speciose insect family). Luhman adopts a particularly modern presentation: a model for future ichneumonid revisions with good discussions of character analysis and phylogeny supporting his detailed diagnoses and thorough morphological descriptions." (Foster Purrington, Department of Entomology, Ohio State University, From Annuals of the Entomological Society of America, Vol. 84, no. 5).

Systematics of the Chrysoxena Group of Genera (Lepidoptera
Tortricidae: Euliini)
Häftad, Engelska, 1991
337 kr
Skickas
The authors examine relationships within the Chrysoxena group of the tortricid tribe Euliini. They define 54 species among six genera: Chrysoxena Meyrick; Vulpoxena Brown, new genus; Thoridia Brown, new genus; Dorithia Powell; Cuproxena Powell and Brown, new genus; and Bidorpitia Brown, new genus. Using cladistic methods, the authors develop a phylogenetic hypothesis for the genera and species groups of Dorithia and Cuproxena. A systematic treatment of the included species provides appropriate generic assignment for several previously misplaced species and describes many taxa as new.

Systematics of Anopina Obraztsov (Lepidoptera Tortricidae: Euliini)
Häftad, Engelska, 2000
337 kr
Skickas
The authors revise the genus Anopina of the leafroller family, Tortricidae (Lepidoptera). This genus ranges from southern Canada to Costa Rica, with its greatest species richness in the higher elevations of Mexico. The larvae are suspected to be leaf-litter feeders. Sixty-two species are treated, of which forty-nine are described as new to science. The authors provide a hypothesis of phylogenetic relationships of the species, propose a classification, supply a key to species groups based primarily on features of the genitalia, and include illustrations of adults, larvae, and male and female genitalia.

Phylogenetic Relationships within Heliodinidae and Systematics of Moths Formerly Assigned to Heliodines Stainton (Lepidoptera: Yponomeutoidea)
Häftad, Engelska, 2005
1 089 kr
Skickas inom 3-6 vardagar
Heliodinids are tiny, brightly colored dayflying moths. Phylogenetic relationships among genera of Heliodinidae are proposed using parsimony and character compatibility. We describe and illustrate 45 North and Central species (25 newly named) assigned to five genera (two new, two exhumed from synonymy). Larval host plants are recorded for 33 species (14 newly discovered), about 45% of the known fauna; 90% of these are specialists on Caryophyllales, primarliy Nyctaginaceae.

Species Revision and Generic Systematics of World Rileyinae (Hymenoptera: Eurytomidae)
Häftad, Engelska, 2008
1 089 kr
Skickas inom 3-6 vardagar
The subfamily Rileyinae (Hymenoptera: Eurytomidae) is redefined to contain 6 genera and 69 species for which keys are provided. Two morphological data sets, analyzed via maximum parsimony with PAUP, yield hypotheses on the placement of Rileyinae within Eurytomidae and internal relationships of Rileyinae. Tables detailing host utilization for Eurytomidae (genera), Rileyinae (species), and confirmed/suspected plant associations for Rileyinae are included.

International Advances in the Ecology, Zoogeography, and Systematics of Mayflies and Stoneflies
Häftad, Engelska, 2008
715 kr
Skickas
The purpose of this volume is to encourage and facilitate focused research and provide a forum for scholarly exchange about the status of Mayfly and Stonefly science. Professor John Brittain, whose research is focused on freshwater entomology, especially egg development and life cycle strategies of Ephemeroptera and Plecoptera, presents a chapter reflecting on the quality of mayflies as good indicators of global warming and the quality of streams and lakes.Professor Emeritus Andrew Sheldon, whose interests have encompassed community and population ecology of aquatic animals over a span of more than 40 years, especially insects and fishes, explores topics of Scale and Hierarchy and the Ecology of Plecoptera, discussing how studies emphasizing scale and perspective reveal importance of stoneflies to ecosystems. Other topics cover a broad base of disciplines including morphology, physiology, phylogeny, taxonomy, ecology and conservation. The chapters have been compiled into three sections for this volume: Ecology, Zoogeography and Systematics.

Skickas inom 3-6 vardagar
The modified mouthparts group is perhaps the largest of the four major Hawaiian Drosophila clades, yet has received relatively little taxonomic attention during the past 40 years. This study reviews unplaced species and the ceratostoma, freycinetiae, semifuscata, and setiger subgroups, with descriptions of 22 new species. We hope this work encourages greater study of the biology of this important group.

Revision of Ufens Girault, 1911 (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae)
Häftad, Engelska, 2011
1 089 kr
Skickas inom 3-6 vardagar
The first worldwide revision of the wasp genus Ufens Girault, 1911 (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae: Oligositinae) is presented. Ufens is known to parasitize primarily hemipteran eggs and is a cosmopolitan genus most common in temperate and semi-arid regions such as the southwestern United States and Australia. Forty-three species are recognized here. Included in the revision are five species formerly in the genus Ufensia, herein synonymized, and 32 new species. In addition, seven species are removed from Ufens and placed in renewed combination in Mirufens. Because thirteen nominal species remain unidentifiable they are treated as nomina dubia. A worldwide key to species is provided. A preliminary phylogenetic hypothesis is presented utilizing both molecular and morphological data in maximum parsimony analysis. Molecular data, however, are limited to twelve of the recognized species. Thirty-seven morphological characters were utilized, both alone and together with molecular data.Due to greater confidence in molecular results and overall lack of resolution, the results of the paired-down molecular plus morphological analysis were utilized as a backbone for analyzing the complete morphological data set. Overall, results are inconclusive, with few relationships consistently recovered. There does appear to be a Holarctic clade, but even this result is tenuous.
