"Brian G. Murphy and Shannon T. L. Kearns invite readers to rediscover Scripture as a story far more expansive, liberating, and life-giving than the narrow interpretations that have too often been used to exclude queer people. With theological insight, pastoral care, and compelling storytelling, they show how reading the Bible through queer experience doesn’t distort Scripture- it helps reveal its deepest truth. This is a hopeful and necessary book for anyone ready to encounter the Bible again as truly good news." — Brandan Robertson, author of Queer & Christian: Reclaiming the Bible, Our Faith, and Our Place at the Table"Once you understand that your queerness and your spirituality are not in opposition, a new adventure in biblical interpretation awaits. This book is the perfect companion for queering the Bible--rich in insight and compassion." — Casper ter Kuile, author of The Power of Ritual"Bursting with holy wisdom, epiphany and revelation—I went in a skeptic and came out a believer. Shannon and Brian's ability to shine a queer light on the bible had me underlining every other page and nodding in agreement. To find myself not just present but celebrated in the midst of stories that have often been used to harm and exclude—was maybe the greatest gift of all." — Namoli Brennet"Murphy and Kearns provide an intimate combination of spiritual care and scriptural literacy for those on a personal journey with religion as LGBTQ+ people. This book is generously conceived, multi-faceted, and forthright past pain and confusion. Read it to access the lifelong education of two faith leaders—one trans man and one bisexual man in a US context—as they share their insights, their experiences, and their love for Bible stories within the wholeness of life." — Malcolm Himschoot, author of Reading Secrets: A Queer Inheritance of Life and Scripture
