They have participated in several governments, and are an important factor in a general trend towards more restrictive migration and integration policies. This Very Short Introduction provides an overview of a growing family of political parties, the radical right. Such parties have existed more or less continuously since the end of the Second World War, but have since the turn of the twenty-first century grown in electoral significance.
