DODD, Professor Emeritus, Auburn University at Montgomery, is now on the staff of the Southern Museum of Flight in Birmingham. He is the author of several books, including Alabama Now and Then: A Contemporary Look (1994) and Historical Statistics of the States of the United States: Two Centuries of the Census, 1790-1990 (Greenwood, 1993).LLOYD H. CORNETT JR., now retired, was an Air Force historian for over 30 years and for 15 years headed the Air Force Historical Research Center, Maxwell Air Force Base. He is the author of 45 volumes of Air Force history, published from 1955 to 1974.ALMA D. STEADING is Associate Librarian Emerita, Furman University.
