Pulmonary Gas Exchange, Volume I: Ventilation, Blood Flow, and Diffusion considers the mechanisms of gas exchange in the lung. This volume is composed of nine chapters that particularly discuss the roles of ventilation, blood flow, and diffusion in pulmonary gas exchange. The opening chapter briefly traces the history of the chemistry and physics of pulmonary gas exchange.
