"France, Germany and Britain: Partners in a Changing World" explores the relationship, and the potential for closer co-operation, which exist between France, Germany and Britain as they enter the new millennium. It focuses on a wide range of domains in which the three partner countries interact including financial and monetary integration, economic and industrial co-operation, politics, security and defence, business and corporate governance, and education. Given the change in government which each of these countries underwent in 1997-1998, given too the apparent willingness of New Labour to assume a more central role on the European stage, the time is ripe to reassess the relationship between France, Germany and Britain as we enter the 21st century.

He has published widely in the field of Franco-German economic, political, industrial and cultural relations and is a regular contributor to Documents - Revue des questions allemandes. - MAIRI MACLEAN is Reader in European Business at Royal Holloway, University of London. She has published widely in the fields of French business and comparative European business. Her books include The Mitterrand Years: Legacy and Evaluation (1998) and Europeans on Europe: Transnational Visions of a New Continent (with J.Howorth,1992).
