Beskrivning
This volume brings together recent work by leading and up-and-coming philosophers on the topic of virtue epistemology. The prospects of virtue-theoretic analyses of knowledge depend crucially on our ability to give some independent account of what epistemic virtues are and what they are for. The contributions here ask how epistemic virtues matter apart from any narrow concern with defining knowledge; they show how epistemic virtues figure in accounts of various aspects of our lives, with a special emphasis on our practical lives. In essence, the essays here put epistemic virtues to work.

Recensioner i media

"Tim Henning and David Schweikard have put together a timely and all-in-all very good volume...The papers in this volume speak for themselves. They are, on the whole, very good ones, and all are on cutting edge topics in mainstream epistemology. In the most important respects...the editors have clearly succeeded, and the volume receives two thumbs up."-J. Adam Carter, University of Edinburgh, Scotland, in Notre Dame Philosophical Reviews “Philosophers who work on epistemology should seek out a copy of Knowledge, Virtue, and Action as quickly as possible. The collection is full of high quality work, and the individual chapters are written clearly, concisely, and with close attention to argument and rigor. It’s a genuine pleasure to engage with it."-Leonard Kahn, Loyola University New Orleans, USA
