Originally published in 1979 Accountability in Higher Education contains the first comprehensive analysis of accountability in Australian higher education. The contributors systematically examine organisation and practice in the Australian higher education system, major issues relating to the accountability movement, and possible future developments arising from these issues. The authors look in turn at the various levels of organisation and accountability within the higher education system – Federal, State, sector, institution and individual – and in so doing provide the most comprehensive coverage possible of the major issues of concern.
