    Beskrivning

SARS-CoV-2 Infection and the Development of Therapeutics provides thorough insights into the SARS-CoV-2 virus, viral infection and transmission, the emergence of variants, need for testing and rapid diagnosis, and the development of effective therapeutic interventions. This book begins with an introduction that highlights the urgent need for effective therapies against this virus. The second section dives into the pathophysiology of viral infections, providing valuable insights into transmission dynamics and the essential role of testing and rapid detection methods. The third section examines antiviral agents and treatments, addressing the numerous challenges in drug design, the immune response, and vaccine development.

Finally, the fourth section tackles related issues such as co-infections in COVID-19 patients, the landscape of clinical trials, regulatory considerations, and future perspectives on antiviral therapies. With contributions from an international group of experts, this book offers a well-rounded understanding of the ongoing battle against SARS-CoV-2 and the COVID-19 disease it causes.

    • Provides a detailed introduction to SARS-CoV-2 and the development of viral therapies for better understanding the complexities of viral infections and their treatment
    • Explores the pathophysiology of SARS-CoV-2 infections, including how the virus interacts with host receptors, mutations, and the immune system's adaptation to the virus
    • Discusses the development of novel antiviral agents, vaccines, and therapeutic regimens designed specifically to combat SARS-CoV-2 and its variants
    • Examines the evolving landscape and potential future direction of COVID-19 treatment options
