Beskrivning
A volume of cutting-edge studies in Christian doctrine from a leading theologian. Oliver Crisp seeks to re-frame key claims about theological method, divine and human agency and salvation emphasizing the need for a constructive approach to dogmatics. The first section is focused on the role of theology. It includes chapters on the limits of retrieval as a method, on the place of theology in the modern university, and on the authority of Scripture. The second section deals with divine and human agency. It includes chapters on panentheism, on divine providence, and a new account of theological determinism called 'Hard Zwinglianism.' The third section considers aspects of salvation, with chapters on Christ's connection to his body while it is in the grave, the place of angels in exotheology, and the hope of glory.

Recensioner i media

Oliver Crisp, one of today’s leading analytic theologians, in this latest instalment of his theological project, shows us the possibilities of an analytically-informed constructive systematic theology. Crisp displays his characteristic rigour, clarity, and insight while offering accounts of today’s most pressing and challenging theological topics, including theological revisionism, the place of the theology in the university, exotheology, panentheism, an exploratory account of Hard Zwinglianism, and more. This is a timely volume that will enrich and challenge readers.
