This work provides an exploration of the issue of gender in relation to the crusades. It discusses a range of subjects, from the medieval construction of gender to the military participation of women in the crusades.
Susan B. Edgington was formerly a senior lecturer at Huntingdonshire Regional College She has written widely on the crusades and has edited and translated the Antiochene Wars and the Historia Iherosolimitana of Albert of Aachen. Sarah Lambert is a lecturer at Goldsmith's College, University of London and the author of several articles on issues of gender in crusade history.
