Arlene Brett is an Associate Professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning, School of Education, University of Miami. She is the co-author with Eugene F. Provenzo, Jr. of The Complete Block Book, and The Complete Playground Book with Robin Moore and Eugene F. Provenzo, Jr. Eugene F. Provenzo, Jr. is a Professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning, School of Education, University of Miami. His most recent book is Video Kids: Making Sense of Nintendo.

Besides providing a general overview of how computers can augment the functions of individuals both physically and mentally, the book goes on to describe in detail currently available hardware and software systems. It features case studies of physically and developmentally challenged individuals using Adaptive Technology to assist them in their education, as well as in their daily lives.
