Partners in the Research Enterprise

Major new relationships between universities and corporations in scientific research herald a potentially significant force for expediting technological innovations. However, a range of concerns has also been expressed on such related problems as university integrity, the rate of return for business, and the role of government. Among areas covered in this volume are: models of collaborative arrangements, benefits and risks of these ventures to both universities and corporations, the role of the federal government, and the possible extent and importance of these kinds of activities in the future.
