In Law and Inhumanity, Luigi Corrias explores fundamental philosophical issues underlying the law and politics of atrocity crimes within international criminal justice. Luigi Corrias is Associate Professor in the Department of Legal Theory and Legal History at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is the author of The Passivity of Law: Competence and Constitution in the European Court of Justice (2011), for which the Netherlands Association for Philosophy of Law awarded him the Prize for the Best Dissertation in Legal Philosophy in the Netherlands and Belgium in 2009–10. For his research on Law and Inhumanity, he received a fellowship from the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIAS-KNAW) in 2019–2020.
