    Michael G. Irwin is the Daniel C. K. Yu Professor in Anaesthesiology at the University of Hong Kong. A specialist with extensive clinical and academic experience, he has published widely on intravenous anaesthesia, pharmacology, and perioperative medicine, and contributed to major textbooks. He has held leadership roles in hospitals and professional societies, served on editorial boards including Anaesthesia, and chaired the 2016 World Congress of Anaesthesiologists. Claire C. Nestor is a Consultant Anaesthetist and Ambulatory Surgery lead at Tallaght University Hospital. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Anaesthesiology, University of Hong Kong. She serves on the editorial board of both Anaesthesia (associate editor) and Anaesthesia & Intensive Care Medicine (editor). She is an enthusiastic teacher and an advocate of sustainable anaesthesia practices.
