Of Varying Landscapes

Of Varying Landscapes: André Green and Non‑Neurotic Structures is a study of the groundbreaking contributions of the preeminent French psychoanalyst, André Green, to the practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy. It holds that conceptualizations specific to the clinic of the negative substantially make treating patients presenting non‑neurotic clinical pictures more feasible. Steven Jaron details the psychopathological paradigm of non‑neurotic structures through an investigation of André Green’s assiduous scrutiny of Freud’s thought and dialogues with Maurice Bouvet, Jacques Lacan, D. W. Winnicott, and W. R. Bion. Jaron’s own self experience in the clinic of the negative is recounted through an in‑depth case study of an adult patient.A broad readership of new and experienced analysts and therapists, as well as those eager to learn about French developments in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy, will find it rewarding.
