Recensioner i media
'This book makes the intangible, corporate, systemic face of modern warfare visible to critical thought in a bold piece of theory-building. An original contribution to the study of war photography and visual culture, Barsdorf-Liebchen's conceptual vocabulary for the 21st century's in/visible violence feels both timely and urgent.'Fiona Crisp, Professor of Fine Art, Northumbria University, UK.'In theorising the visualisation of war, Nicolette Barsdorf-Liebchen challenges taken-for-granted assumptions about imagery in order to elaborate an alternative perspective alert to the in/visibilities of power and resistance. This is a bold intervention certain to inspire critical scholarship, particularly efforts to secure a conceptual vocabulary fit for purpose when the ethical representation of human suffering is at stake.'Stuart Allan, Professor of Journalism and Communication, Cardiff University, UK.
