Integrating architecture, art, and design, this book presents a multidisciplinary perspective on aesthetics to address contemporary issues related to nature, urban spaces, and media environments.Exploring how different environments, both virtual and physical, impact our aesthetic experiences in various social contexts, the book focuses in particular on the environmental aspect, which includes protecting natural resources, habitats, and ecosystems to ensure their long-term health and sustainability. Christiane Wagner is a research professor in aesthetics and the science of art and communication, affiliated with UNIVESP and the Institute of Advanced Studies (IEA USP) at the University of São Paulo, and at ICI Berlin. She has held professorships at the Institute of Arts (UNICAMP) and the Contemporary Art Museum (MAC USP). She studied design in Frankfurt a.M. and Berlin, then continued her career in São Paulo, collaborating internationally. She holds a bachelor’s in design (first-class honors) from Belas Artes São Paulo, a master’s in communication sciences, a Ph.D. in design and architecture from the University of São Paulo (USP), and a Ph.D. in science of art and aesthetics from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, all with the highest honors. She serves on the Scientific Committee of the Society for Interdisciplinary Image Science in Germany and on the International Committee of the College Art Association of America, New York.
