Imagine a commentary abreast of all the latest scholarship that wears its learning lightly. Eminently readable, it inserts a judicious selection of key exegetical insights, interpretive debates quickly resolved, and incisive contemporary application. Now make that commentary tackle the ugly stepchild of the general epistles, the Letter of James, in a way that makes you feel good about it again. Tie a bow around it and you have Daniel Eng's new commentary on James. For such a quick read, you'll come out really knowledgeable and challenged by this little letter!
