He is the author of numerous works including The Reporter's Environmental Handbook and Environmental Risk and the Press. James Simon is chair and professor of English at Fairfield University and directs his school's journalism program. He is the author of numerous scholarly publications that have appeared in Science Communication and Public Understanding of Science. JoAnn Myer Valenti is an Emerita Professor of Communications. She is the author of Developing Protocol for Ethical Communication in Environmental News Coverage and she is a Fellow in the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
