To speak of ecologies of architecture is to break with judgement for experience. As Gilles Deleuze put it in his book on Nietzsche, it is not about justification, 'but a different way of feeling: another sensibility'. If to think differently we have to feel differently, then the design of the built environment has no other purpose but to transform us. While engineering is solution-oriented, architecture stays with the problem so as to tease out a creative potential.

Andrej Radman is Assistant Professor of Architecture Philosophy and Theory at Delft University of Technology, where he coordinates the Ecologies of Architecture research group. Over the past two decades, his research has focused on the nexus between architecture and radical empiricism. He serves as a member of the National Committee on Deleuze and Guattari Scholarship, a founding editor of the TU Delft OPEN Publishing Ecologies of Architecture book series, and was Executive Editor of the peer-reviewed architecture theory journal Footprint (2011–2024). Radman is co-editor of Critical and Clinical Cartographies (2017), Architecture of Life and Death (2021), The Space of Technicity (2024), and Noetics Without a Mind (2024). He is the author of Gibsonism (2012) and Ecologies of Architecture: Essays on Territorialisation (2021). A licensed architect with a portfolio of built and competition-winning projects, Radman received the Croatian Association of Architects’ annual award for housing architecture in 2002. In 2023, he was honoured with the Mark Cousins Theory Award presented by DigitalFUTURES, recognising leading theorists in architecture and design for forward-thinking contributions to the field. Rosi Braidotti is a Distinguished University Professor Emerita at Utrecht University in the Netherlands and Honorary Professor at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. She is a feminist Continental philosopher and she holds degrees in philosophy from the ANU and the Sorbonne and Honorary Degrees from Helsinki, (2007) and Linkoping (2013). She is an Honorary Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities (FAHA) and also a Member of the Academia Europaea. In 2022 she received the Humboldt Research Award for life-long contribution to scholarship. Her publications include: Nomadic Subjects (2011), and Nomadic Theory (2011); The Posthuman (2013), Posthuman Knowledge (2019); Posthuman Feminism (2022); The Posthuman Glossary (2018) and More Posthuman Glossary (2022).

He is refreshingly meticulous in his treatment of architectural theory and Continental philosophy, and this collection of Radman's most important essays on theory from the past few years, is a significant and very welcome contribution to the domain of architectural theory.
