When Sin Is Serious—and Grace Is GreaterGreater Sins, Greater Grace by Jeff Moore confronts a question many Christians assume is settled: Are all sins equal? With pastoral clarity and rigorous scholarship, Moore demonstrates from Scripture that while all sin brings guilt before God, the Bible itself distinguishes degrees of sin—and magnifies the depth of divine grace that meets even the gravest offenses.Rooted in careful exegesis of both the Old and New Testaments, this book challenges popular evangelical slogans with a whole-Bible theology of sin, judgment, and forgiveness. Moore guides readers through difficult moral terrain with courage, precision, and compassion, showing why certain sins strike more directly at God’s created order—and why the gospel still offers hope to those who repent.Written for pastors, students, and thoughtful Christians, Greater Sins, Greater Grace equips the church to speak truthfully, preach wisely, and extend grace boldly in a morally confused age.In this book, you will discover:Why Scripture teaches degrees of sin without denying universal guiltWhich sins the Bible treats as especially grievous—and whyHow church history and Protestant theology have addressed (and avoided) this issueWhy recognizing “greater sins” actually magnifies the gospel of graceHow pastors and churches can apply these truths faithfully todayClear, courageous, and Christ-centered, this is a timely call to take both sin and grace seriously.

”... a tremendous doctrinal and ethical study. It will strengthen the church's confession of truth, even as it ultimately leads us to worship the Son who has made atonement for all our hell-deserving sins, whether the great or the small.“Owen Strachan(Director, One Gospel Ministries)”... a remarkable piece of work ....“Peter Jones(Executive Director, truthXchange; Former Scholar in Residence at Westminster Seminary, California; Teaching Elder at New Life Presbyterian Church, Escondido, California)”... required reading for anyone seeking to understand both the seriousness of every kind of sin and the special wickedness of sins against the created order.“William Edgar(Professor of Apologetics (retired), Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)”... this most timely study clarifies and warns in ways that should change Christian preaching and ethical values in our day.“Jason S. DeRouchie(Research Professor of Old Testament and Biblical Theology at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; Content Developer and Global Trainer with Hands to the Plow Ministries )”We know that sins are not all equal in their impact on other people, but Jeff Moore demonstrates that some sins are more serious in their offence against God. He highlights sins relating to God's creation order, but also reminds us that there is grace sufficient for the worst of sinners. This is a valuable resource, provoking us to reflect further on this theme of "greater sins" which is either neglected or rejected today.“Bill James(Principal, London Seminary, London, UK)
