Maikel Kuijpers is Assistant Professor in Archaeology at Leiden University. He teaches material histories, archaeological theory, prehistoric Europe, the relevance of archaeology and science communication. Kuijpers holds a PhD from Cambridge University. He is the author of An Archaeology of Skill. His work on prehistoric money was featured in the New York Times and BBC radio. He has written for The Correspondent and The Conversation. Everything Is Material is his first trade book.
