Her books as author include Gendering Orientalism: Race, Femininity and Representation (1996), Rethinking Orientalism: Women, Travel and the Ottoman Harem(I.B.Tauris, 2004)and Re-Fashioning Orientalism: New Trends in Muslim Style (forthcoming 2014).
