Nyre’s research is oriented to evaluation and prototyping of new media for journalism, and results are published in a range of international journals. Nyre is a teacher of media and interaction design in Media City Bergen. He heads a pedagogical project for student active learning funded by the Norwegian state directorate HK-dir from 2021 to 2024 and was awarded the Teaching Environment Prize at the University of Bergen in 2019.
