Beskrivning
What is the difference between a trek and a pilgrimage? Why do some people walk for weeks, months or even years to visit a holy site? What personal transformations can occur along the way, and at journey’s end? In this pocket book, packed with over 70 maps, Stephen Parsons explores pilgrimage routes, from the Camino de Santiago to the Hajj, from India’s sacred rivers to Japan’s mountain circuits, from Celtic wells to Baltic forests, showing pilgrimage as both inner and outer journey and quest.
