Jennifer Montagu is a distinguished art historian who specialises in Roman Baroque sculpture. Her monograph on Alessandro Algardi was published in 1985 to great acclaim. Montagu worked as Curator of the Photographic Collection of the Warburg Institute, London, and has been both the Slade Professor of Fine Art at Cambridge and the Andrew W. Mellon Lecturer at the National Gallery of Art, Washington. She has also served as a Trustee of the Wallace Collection and British Museum, London, and is an Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
