He was a Graduate Research Assistant at the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He is a Member of the National Research System, CONAHCYT, and the Mexican Academy of Sciences. His research is in the structural characterization of materials, thin films, and sensors. Joel Antonio Trejo-Sanchez is a CONAHCYT Researcher for Mexico assigned to the CIMAT at Mérida since 2016. His research lines focus on theoretical computer science, particularly on the design of algorithms for combinatorial optimization problems, distributed computing, and parallel computing. Joel holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education at Ensenada in 2014. He received his M. in C. in Electrical Engineering from CINVESTAV and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Autonomous University of Yucatán. His results have been published in journals: Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing, Optimization Letters, and Theoretical Computer Sciences. Since 2015.
