Sustainable Sericulture in India

This volume discusses the impacts of climate change on sericulture in India, which was the world's second-largest producer of raw silk in 2022–2023, with mulberries accounting for 75.59% (27,654 MT) of total production. Covered are the challenges, threats, and opportunities for how to make mulberry silk production more climate-resilient and sustainable, while accounting for a broad range of influences including biodiversity, eco-physiology, crop management, mulberry cultivation, silkworm breeding, genomics, and issues resulting from pest and disease.
