Víctor de Castro León graduated in Arabic Philology and obtained his PhD in Arabic and Islamic Studies from the University of Salamanca (Spain). He has worked as a researcher at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (Berlin) and the Centre for Human and Social Sciences (CCHS) of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC, Madrid).Mónica Herrera Casais studied Arabic Philology at the University of Seville, and Philology and History of science at the Doctoral School of La Laguna University, Tenerife (1997–2002), where she wrote a thesis on late medieval Maghribī astrology. She was also appointed by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation to teach Spanish as a Foreign Language at Jordan University, Amman.
