Arnulf Rainer

Arnulf Rainer continually developed new artistic strategies. In the 1970s and 1980s, through his intensely physical practice, he created works using hand and finger painting. In the period that followed, he applied paint with broad brushes to achieve a transparent quality. With his innovative oeuvre, accompanied by performative works and extensive writings, Rainer occupies a significant position within post-war art.
