Ester Bianchi, Ph.D. (2003), University of Venice and École Pratique des Hautes Études (EPHE), is Associate Professor at Perugia University. She authored The Iron Statue Monastery, Tiexiangsi: A Buddhist Nunnery of Tibetan Tradition in Contemporary China (2001) and a translation of the Gaoseng Faxian zhuan (2013). Daniela Campo, Ph.D. (2011), École Pratique des Hautes Études (EPHE), is Associate Professor at the University of Strasbourg. She is the author of La construction de la sainteté dans la Chine moderne: la vie du maître bouddhiste Xuyun (2013).
