Lazy people in the fertile valley

Can laziness become a kind of philosophy?!In other words, can laziness be a positive act in the pursuit of pleasure?This is the meaning presented by the Egyptian writer, who writes in French, Albert Cossery, in his novel "Lazy People of the Fertile Valley." He portrays a group of individuals living their lives waiting for nothing, knowing nothing about tomorrow, and perhaps completely ignorant of the fact that there is such a thing as tomorrow. Albert Cossery himself is a unique case. Since his migration from Cairo to Paris more than half a century ago, he has been living in the same room in the same hotel. A celebration, the only one of its kind in the world, was even held in his honor in the city of Antibes. Laziness is inherent in Cossery, despite his vitality, which is not hindered by his passing eighty years. It is merely physical laziness despite a radiant mind.
