The book attempts to study the demand for the creation of Uttarakhand State in the historical perspective of integration of princely States and formation and reorganisation of States and Union Territories. Section-I provides the profile of the proposed Uttarakhand state. Section-II indicates the backgrounders to the demand for the formation of Uttarakhand/Uttaranchal. Section-III indicates viability of proposed Uttarakhand State vis-a-vis seventeen states and Union Territories with a population of less than one crore.
