Because of This is an in-depth study of all operational elements, and a balanced, truthful, and detailed analysis of the events and related aspects of the aerial warfare conducted during the December 1971 India-Pakistan War. It is the first ‘joint’ examination of the air war as the inter-weaving of both the ground and aerial war together has never been done in the past. This is a detailed comparison and examination of PAF’s versions of the same events allowing for events to be stitched together from both sides making this the first and only credible examination of the air-war. Also, it is a first-ever examination of, as yet, classified documents of over 6000 pilots’ handwritten mission reports. Post-war assessments of its own performance by the IAF have also been used to write this definitive account of the 1971 aerial war.
