This book takes a law and economic approach to examine the securities law enforcement in China and provides an in-depth empirical analysis on the enforcement inputs and outputs. In contrast to previous studies, it systematically collects a large sample of judicated securities fraud cases and public sanctions as disclosed by the listed companies. Wenming Xu is the Associate Professor and Associate Dean of School of Law and Economics at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). He obtained his BA and LLB from CUPL, and Ph.D.in Law and Economics from University of Bologna. Wenming’s research interests mainly include law and economics, law and corporate finance, securities law and regulation and empirical legal studies, and he teaches Law and Economics, Law and Finance, and Empirical Methods in Legal Studies at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has served as visiting scholars at University of Oxford, University of Chicago, Northwestern University, National University of Singapore and Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law. Wenming has received multiple research grants, for example, from the National Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science, Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation for Junior Faculties and Beijing Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science, and published extensively in both international and Chinese journals, including International Review of Law and Economics, European Business Organization Law Review, European Journal of Law and Economics and Economics of Governance.
