And Then There Were Ten

This Myra Menville's first book, AND THEN THERE WERE TEN. It is a true love story about a woman who came from a privileged family with thirteen siblings, meets the love of her life on a blind date, breaks her engagement to one of the Gettys, and marries this man David Loker a year later. The first child was born nine months after the honeymoon (my mother) and over a period of time, and then there were ten! There are wonderful stories about New Orleans culture and the diversity of the ten children. She ended up wearing her son’s football sweater to keep warm, but  loved that man til the day he died, proving love conquers all. She traded wealth for true love and her life was a testament to what is really important.
