The history of life is a nearly four billion year old story of transformative change. Die Projektgruppe Anthropologie des Alten Testaments der Wissenschaftlichen Gesellschaft für Theologie hat sich in zwei internationalen Symposien in Wittenberg 2015 und 2016 mit den anthropologischen Grundthemen der Individualität und der Selbstreflexion befasst. Der vorliegende Sammelband umfasst den Ertrag dieser Symposien. Im ersten Teil stehen übergreifende Beiträge zur Konstitution von Individualität, zu persönlicher und kollektiver Identität und zum Zugang zu Individualität von Texten und Bildern im Mittelpunkt. Im zweiten Teil folgen Aufsätze mit Fragestellungen aus den einzelnen Literaturbereichen des Alten Testaments zum Thema der Individualität und Selbstreflexion (Pentateuch, Propheten, Psalmen und Rechtsüberlieferung). This collection of articles presents the results of these symposia. In the first part general contributions on the constitution of individuality, on personal and collective identity and access to the individuality of texts and images stand in the focus. This is followed in the second part by articles on issues from different areas of literature of the Old Testament (Pentateuch, Prophets, Psalms, legal traditions).

Wie eng im Alten Testament das Menschen- und Gottesbild zusammenhängen, macht schon das durchgängige Phänomen des Anthropomorphismus in dessen Literaturen deutlich. Der vorliegende Band befragt exemplarisch den Zusammenhang von Anthropologie und Theologie, von Gotteskonzepten und Menschenkonzepten. Dabei werden u.a. folgende Fragen berührt: Welche Konsequenzen haben Monolatrie und Monotheismus für die Identität und Selbstreflexivität des Menschen? Hängen Monotheismus und Individualismus zusammen? Welche Menschenbilder werden auf Gott übertragen und welche nicht?[God and Man in the Old Testament. The Relation of the Image of God and of Man]lt becomes evident how close the image of man and of God is interrelated in the Old Testament, when you look at the phenomenon of anthropomorphism in its literatures. The present volume examines the relationship of anthropology and theology, of the images of God and the images of man. The following questions are touched: What are the consequences of monolatry and monotheism for identity and self-reflectivity of man? Are monotheism and individualism linked to each other? Which human images are transferred to God and which are not?
