This book is a collection of short stories. Its based on my lifes experiences. In most of stories, characters are taken from my family. I tried my best to explain how a man can make a fine balance between tradition and modernization. My stories are my life experiences. India is such a rich, complex stew of contradictions, of ancient traditions and cutting-edge modernity, and of gregariousness and sly reserve. My voice as a teacher is important and authentic because I have the unique experience of being of two worldsthe rural Thar Desert and the educated city life of Jaisalmer and Jodhpur, not to mention my travels to Connecticut and New York and Washington. Taken together, the arc of my stories paints a clear picture of how India is evolving, especially rural India. There is a lovely thread of opening to new ideas generation by generation that my family represents. I am living this in such a conscious way that, although its maddening or heartbreaking sometimes, I also see the whole and have become wise enough to appreciate my place in all this. Jaisalmer, my town is popular among tourist all over world. Nicknamed golden city, it is famous for its prestigious history and unique beauty. My stories present a picture of life of people who live here.

The Geo-political situation of the Kushana Empire makes the North-Western region of the country, the meeting points of the three civilizations i.e. China, India and West Asia. The brick trade was carried on the regions between Ganga, The Indus, The Euphrates, The Oxus and the Mediterranean, Caspian and Black-Sea, especially with Roman Empire, in the first century and second century A.D. and Kushana Empire had a great share in it. The prosperity of Kushana towns developed largely on the wealth derived from their international trade.

As per the tradition all the 22 Dynasties / principalities of the region constructed forts at their respective capitals. The known accounts or literary sources of the region clearly indicate that all the twenty two states came into existence after 8th century A.D. However from the historical point of view, we do not have any authentic account or evidences about the most of the forts of the region.

These vary in regard to as they possess only the sanctuary or more parts of a typical sikhara temple. Some of the temple consist of a single cella in which the idol is housed and have an enter room or mandapa. The ancient temples, however, are entered through an ornamented porch usually supported by two pillars. The early medieval temples in Jammu region are two types. Firstly, ??iratha embellished by a variety of carvings and architectural designs as in the case of temples at Krimachi and most probably the Devi shrine at Babour. The second type to be seen in all other temples at Babour, which are not ??iratha in construction but are equally decorated with carved embellishments and architectural design. The temple of recent origin do not possess such outer formalities except that they have large curvilinear sikharas with a small melon-type amalaka or simply a bhumi in some cases on the highest narrow point to serve as base for a metallic kalasa, set of three ghatas diminishing upwards, topped by a lotus bud pointed upwards. The lower portion or jangha is invariably a rectangular construction, all constructed out of bricks, leaving no scope for carved embellishment, but only for architectural designs, embellishing niches, projections like eves, bandhanas, ardha- sikharas and the like.

The remnants of art and architecture, coins and tools, as well as other archaeological objects, which have been discovered in appreciable quantities, serve as first hand pictorial and material sources for the ancient cultural history of Jammu region. The culture of the people of Jammu region has been blended out of diverse elements, both indigenous and exotic. This culture has its roots in the pre-historic modes of primitive human society, growing through various stages of evolution and enriched and polished by numerous tribes and communities entering the region from abroad and from within India. The traditions of culture, art and architecture, religion, craft folk art spontaneously flow uninterrupted from the popular activities of the past. The past generations of Jammu region seem to have left behind a rich legacy of all such socio-cultural aspects.

Doctoral Thesis / Dissertation from the year 2014 in the subject Computer Science - Technical Computer Science, Sir Padampat Singhania University, language: English, abstract: Grid technology is a new paradigm which has the potential to completely change the way of computing and data access. Generally speaking, we could consider the Grid as the new enabling technology to transparently access computing and storage resources anywhere, anytime and with guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS). Grid computing has emerged to cater the need of computingon-demand due to the advent of distributed computing with sophisticated load balancing, distributed data and concurrent computing power using clustered servers. The Grid enables resource sharing and dynamic allocation of computational resources, thus increasing access to distributed data, promoting operational flexibility and collaboration, and allowing service providers to scale efficiently to meet variable demands. The lack of adequate development methods for this kind of systems since the majority of existing Grid applications have been built without a systematic development process and are based on adhoc developments suggests the need for adapted development methodologies. This thesis concern the resource discovery and trust management with security in large size of future grid. An automatic discovery mechanism is needed to find nodes willing to participate in the grid. For mobile grids, a decentralized discovery mechanism is vital to cope with the fluctuating topology and large number of participants. The thesis implemented an Ant based discovery mechanism in which forward and backward ants are used to establish super-grid nodes. The criteria for selecting the super-grid nodes include distance, CPU speed, available bandwidth and residual battery power. After establishing the supergrid nodes among the grid nodes, they collect information about all the resources in a resource table. It consists of grid node id, resource availability, distance from super-grid etc. If any node wants a specific resource, it sends request to its nearest super-grid node from which the node ids matching the request, are returned. The local and global trust values of each node can be estimated based on the factors Job Response time, percentage of correctly received data, Number of successfully finished jobs. These factors can be collected based on the feedback from the user. The trust values can be updated based on the predictive residence time of each grid node. (ie) The node with least residence time (with high mobility) is penalized by reducing the trust value by a step value. [...]
