Teaching Gender: Feminist Pedagogy and Responsibility in Times of Political Crisis addresses the neoliberalization of the university, what this means in real terms, and strategic pedagogical responses to teaching within this context across disciplines and region. Inspired by bell hooks’ "transgressive school" and Donna Haraway’s "responsibility", this collection promotes a politics of care within the classroom through new forms of organizational practices. It engages with the challenges and possibilities of teaching students about women and gender by examining the multiple pedagogical, theoretical, and political dimensions of feminist learning. The book revisits how we can reconfigure a feminist politics of responsibility that is able to respond to or engage with contemporary crises. It also conceptualizes crisis and explains how it is transforming contemporary societies and affecting individual vulnerabilities and institutional structures. La idea de editar nuevamente el libro Género en la educación: Pedagogía y responsabilidad Feministas en Tiempos de Crisis Política nació en el seno de Atgender, una asociación de género europea que desde 2015 fortalece las conexiones entre académicas, activistas, profesoras y trabajadoras públicas interesadas en la investigación, la documentación y la pedagogía de los estudios de género a nivel europeo. Este libro nació de la necesidad de mostrar estrategias políticas concretas para contrarrestar la complejidad de los actuales problemas socio-económicos y culturales desde una perspectiva pedagógica feminista.Fruto de esta vocación pedagógica, cada capítulo contiene además de la experiencia concreta, un listado de tareas para poner en práctica las herramientas presentadas en ese caso concreto. Así, a intervención feminista aparece como un requisito indispensable para restaurar el bienestar de la ciudadanía, para situar el debate político en los valores humanistas de protección de los grupos situados en una posición de vulnerabilidad y repensar las dimensiones de crisis educativa, ecológica y social presentes en nuestra sociedad.Las autoras muestran propuestas de respuesta feministas, propuestas de intervención en el aula y en espacios abiertos a la participación ciudadanía, en las escuelas, en los institutos y en los barrios. Con esta estrategia buscan extender la alianza de sororidad desde Europa hasta América Latina, entre otros países, para diseminar las estrategias globales afincadas en lo local. La traducción de este monográfico tiene una doble intención.En primer lugar, contribuir al feminismo contemporáneo de los nuevos materialismos diseminando esta corriente entre las personas interesadas y expertas del ámbito hispanohablante y, en segundo lugar, ofrecer herramientas prácticas en el ámbito de la pedagogía, en un sentido amplio, es decir, tanto para el profesorado como para otros y otras especialistas o profesionales relacionadas con la pedagogía y la educación.
