Dieses Buch liefert einen Einblick in eine extremistische Subkultur, deren Schriften nur selten an die Öffentlichkeit gelangen: Es sind die Zeitungen und Zeitschriften, die Flugblätter und Pamphlete zahlreicher neonazistischer Gruppen, die hier detailliert untersucht werden. Der Autor beschreibt die publizistischen Methoden der Neonazis und analysiert ihre Medien; er skizziert den ideologischen Sprachgebrauch einzelner Gruppen und zeichnet - ausgehend von konstruktivistischen Prämissen - die Erschaffung und Entstehung ihrer Weltbilder nach. Ziel ist es dabei stets, die linguistische Analyse politischer Kommunikation mit den Schlüsselideen einer konstruktivistischen Erkenntnistheorie zu verbinden. Wie entsteht, so lautet die Kernfrage, eine ideologische Wirklichkeit? Wie wird aus dem anderen Menschen ein Gegner? Wie werden Feindbilder konstruiert?

​Dieser Essay stellt sich einem doppelten Anspruch: Zum einen soll – kurz und knapp – in die Erkenntnistheorie des Konstruktivismus eingeführt werden, die in den verschiedensten Disziplinen (Medien- und Kommunikationswissenschaft, Soziologie etc.) für Aufsehen gesorgt hat. Zum anderen gilt es zu zeigen, in welcher Weise die Kernaussagen und Prämissen des Konstruktivismus (Abschied von der Idee absoluter Wahrheitserkenntnis, Orientierung am „Beobachter“ bzw. dem Erkennenden, Akzeptanz der Pluralität von Wirklichkeitskonstruktionen etc.) für die medienethischen Debatten folgenreich sind. Deutlich wird, dass die konstruktivistischen Einsichten zu einer grundsätzlichen Skepsis inspirieren und eine radikale Verantwortungsethik begründbar machen. Jeder ist, so das hier entfaltete Argument, für seine Wirklichkeitskonstruktion verantwortlich.

In 1957, at the University of Illinois, he established the Biological Computer Lab (BCL) – the cradle of the epistemology that would later cause a stir under the label of "constructivism." The focus was on analyzing the logical and methodological problems that in evitably arise when one seeks to know knowledge. He is the author of numerous books, including Understanding Understanding: Essays on Cybernetics and Cognition.Bernhard Poerksen is professor of media studies at the University of Tübingen with a particular research interest in the new media age. His books about systemic thinking have been translated into many languages. In 2008 he was voted "Professor of the Year" in honor of his teaching. His most recent book publications in English include From Being to Doing: The Origins of the Biology of Cognition (with Humberto Maturana), The Unleashed Scandal: The End of Control in the Digital Age (with Hanne Detel), and Digital Fever: Taming the Big Business of Disinformation.
