Besides,ARTE, as a European Cultural Channel, does not only focus on crossculturalcommunication and management within France and Germany,but also within the whole of Europe. But choosing ARTE made us deal with quite a few challenges, asARTE is an organisation consisting of complexity and sophisticatedstructures. Therefore we divided our work in four parts in order to makeit as understandable as possible: First, we will introduce theorganisation by giving a comprehensive overview, particularly focusingon the history and the different steps of development. After the secondpart, the theoretical frame, we will use the third detailed part to analysethe organisation ARTE using the knowledge of the given theory. Thefourth part will deal with several problems ARTE has to face with andpossible advices connected with the conclusion.

Seminar paper from the year 2005 in the subject Politics - Topic: Development Politics, grade: 2,0, Copenhagen Business School, course: Methodology of development cooperation, language: English, abstract: Rapid urbanisation in the developing world is the focus of urban development programmes that aim to upgrade physical infrastructure facilities and social community programmes. The participatory urban development programme by the GTZ 1 in El Nasseriya in Aswan/Egypt shows insights on a very heterogeneous community that has been shaped by rural-urban migration. This programme serves as a base to debate limitations and opportunities of participation and gender sensitive approaches within the development discourse by referring to the following scenarios: Firstly, the GTZ failed to implement the participatory component in the planning phase and furthermore, failed to take into consideration the role, needs and resources of women. However, women eventually showed their presence in public and participated independently from the applied policies. Later on, conflicts and power struggles occurred when gender components were finally implemented and institutionalised by the GTZ. It is crucial to study the interrelations between the applied policies and the involvement of a community and to take into account that urban development programmes are not blind to gender, as this will lead to a re-evaluation and re-appreciation of the women within society. Essay from the year 2005 in the subject Politics - Political systems in general and in comparison, grade: 2,0, Bilkent University , course: Peacekeeping Operations, language: English, abstract: The war in Bosnia, and in particular the failure of the international community to put an end to it for 3 long years, has represented a tough anticlimax for the post-Cold War euphoria, envisaging a smooth and peaceful transition towards a functioning collective security system. The gap between ends and means or expectations and capabilities were so wide that the international community undermined the possibility of successful intervention. UNPROFOR was initially deployed in Croatia, with headquarters in Sarajevo which at the time, early 1992, was before the recognition of its independence. Subsequently, with the escalation of the civil war in Bosnia, it s mandate extended to Bosnia and as preventative deployment to the FYROM. In addition, UNPROFOR had an operational mandate in Serbia and Montenegro and a liaison presence in Slovenia.1The purpose of this essay is to discuss UN peace keeping operations, specifically, it shall examine the case of UNPROFOR. It shall aim to provide valuable knowledge on the creation of the force, the functions of the force, organization of the force, financing of the force and a final evaluation of the force. In order to succeed in this analytical framework it is adherent to have a background knowledge on the nature of the conflict and how is transformed.
