Ambient Intelligence (AmI) is a recent paradigm emerging from Artificial Intelligence (AI), where computers are used as proactive tools assisting people with their day-to-day activities, making everyone’s life more comfortable.

Another main concern of AmI originates from the human computer interaction domain and focuses on offering ways to interact with systems in a more natural way by means user friendly interfaces. This field is evolving quickly as can be witnessed by the emerging natural language and gesture based types of interaction.

The inclusion of computational power and communication technologies in everyday objects is growing and their embedding into our environments should be as invisible as possible. In order for AmI to be successful, human interaction with computing power and embedded systems in the surroundings should be smooth and happen without people actually noticing it. The only awareness people should have arises from AmI: more safety, comfort and wellbeing, emerging in a natural and inherent way.

ISAmI is the International Symposium on Ambient Intelligence and aiming to bring together researchers from various disciplines that constitute the scientific field of Ambient Intelligence to present and discuss the latest results, new ideas, projects and lessons learned, namely in terms of software and applications, and aims to bring together researchers from various disciplines that are interested in all aspects of this area.

L’obiettivo di questi testi è ricordare al lettore le sue più recondite paure. Ciò che molti anziani tramandano oralmente, ciò che si diffonde di bocca in bocca tra i vari quartieri. A quasi tutti si sono drizzati i peli dalla paura con una di queste storie e di nuovo il dubbio: Sarà possibile? Per alcuni si tratta solo di storie per divertirsi, per spaventare i bambini o per fornire un insegnamento a livello morale, per altri, per alcuni si tratta solo di idolatria, stregoneria e superstizioni.Sarà Lei, cara lettrice e gentile lettore a decidere come avvicinarsi a questi testi. Che, per inciso provengono dal villaggio e così vengono tramandate, mischiandosi con ciò che si racconta al di fuori dei nostri confini e i nostri miti e leggende. Questi racconti si pongono nel mezzo tra la ragione e la fantasia, spetterà a Lei decidere. L''autore l''assicura che non si sbilancia verso nessuna delle due opzioni, si limita a raccontare solo ciò che gli hanno riferito.

These stories encourage the reader to remember their deepest fears; stories that many of our elders still tell to this day, travelling by word of mouth through towns and neighbourhoods. Almost everyone has had goosebumps reading these stories and again the doubts appear: Can it be possible? For some, they are just stories to pass the time, to frighten children, or to teach morals, for others, they serve as idolatry, pretensions of magic and superstitions.It will be you, dear reader, who will decide how to interpret these stories which are taken from the townspeople and there they return, between what is told beyond our borders and our own myths and legends. These stories may be between reason and fantasy and you will decide. The author is clear in that he does not bow to either of the two sides, he only recounts what he has heard.
