Das Werk basiert auf den Ergebnissen des BMBF-Projekts "S.I.T.E. - Schaffung eines Innovationsmilieus für Telemedizin". Im Zentrum stehen die Analyse und die Systematisierung von Erfolgsfaktoren zur nachhaltigen Etablierung der Telemedizin in der Versorgung, mit Fokus auf dem Telemonitoring. Darauf aufbauend werden interdisziplinäre, praxistaugliche Lösungsansätze entwickelt und dargestellt. Dazu zählen u. a. Qualifikationsprogramme und die Möglichkeiten der Zertifizierung. Schließlich kommen auch zahlreiche namhafte Experten zu Wort und schildern ihre Sicht auf die wesentlichen Erfolgskriterien in der Telemedizin.
